Classics Students Visit Greece
During the Easter break, 31 students from Years 9-13 embarked on an unforgettable week-long trip to Greece.
Their adventure began in the historic city of Athens, where they explored iconic sites such as the Acropolis, the ancient Agora, and the treasures of the National Archaeological Museum. The journey continued as they traveled to the mystical sites of Delphi and Olympia. At Olympia, students were thrilled to witness rehearsals for the upcoming Olympic Flame lighting ceremony, set to take place this summer for the Paris Olympics.
The trip didn’t just stop at these famed locations. The group also ventured to a charming seaside town, which served as their base for exploring further ancient sites like Mycenae, Corinth, and Epidavros. Throughout their travels, students delved deep into the archaeology and history of these significant sites, enriching their understanding of ancient civilisations.
Beyond the historical exploration, the students soaked up the Mediterranean sunshine, roamed quaint Greek towns, indulged in local ice cream, and enjoyed some relaxing beach time at their final hotel. This educational excursion not only broadened their historical knowledge but also allowed them to experience the vibrant culture and scenic landscapes of Greece. A great way to spend the Easter holidays!
