Year 2 spent the morning at Forest School, imagining that were living in London during the long hot summer of 1666. They chose one of the model houses to be Tom Fariner’s bakery and pretended that a lit match was a spark from the baker’s oven that triggered the Great Fire of London. We sang our “Great Fire of London” songs and toasted marshmallows as we watched the flames grow higher. We then passed a bucket, pretending it contained water from the River Thames to put out the fire. It was an excellent morning!
