The latest Taunton Sessions event was a celebration of musical creativity, featuring a number of brand new songs, mashups, and inventive new versions of classic numbers. Students from Year 9 to Year 13 took part, and performances included solos, duets, small groups and rock bands. Covers of Adele, Linkin Park, Journey and Coldplay had the audience enthralled, alongside new items from Taunton School songwriters, all accompanied by students on guitar and at the keyboard. This was a fitting way to be able to celebrate some Year 13 leavers who have been heavily involved in performing music in these styles, and we look forward to the next generation of musicians taking a lead on more of these events next year.
