What a fantastic way to end the first week back at school! In early September, Year 7 pupils travelled to Croyde for an unforgettable trip packed with challenge, teamwork and fun.

Blessed with glorious sunshine and continuing the incredible summer weather we had enjoyed throughout the holidays, the children arrived to find perfect conditions awaiting them. The sea temperature was ideal, making it comfortable for everyone to get into the water and take part in the exciting activities on offer.

During the trip, pupils participated in surfing, beach safety and first aid sessions. The surfing proved to be both exciting and demanding, with some impressive waves providing a real challenge for everyone involved. Pupils showed great determination and resilience as they developed their skills and built their confidence in the water.

Away from the surfboards, the beach safety and first aid sessions gave the children valuable knowledge and practical skills that could prove useful throughout their lives. The pupils approached every activity with enthusiasm and maturity, making the most of every opportunity to learn.

One of the highlights of the trip was the way the children worked together. Whether helping one another catch a wave, encouraging a friend to try something new, or supporting each other during activities, the teamwork on display was outstanding. The trip was especially valuable for our new Year 7 pupils, providing a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and develop strong relationships at the very start of their school journey.

As the day drew to a close, there was just enough time for everyone to enjoy a well-earned ice cream before boarding the coaches for the journey home. Smiles were everywhere as pupils reflected on a day filled with laughter, achievement and memorable experiences.

The Croyde trip was a tremendous success and a brilliant way to begin the new academic year. Year 7 returned to school with new skills, new friendships and many happy memories that will last for years to come.
