University of Queensland and Study Options Visit
Our students had the opportunity to meet representatives from the University of Queensland and ‘Study Options’, the official UK support service for applications to universities in Australia and New Zealand, on 23rd March 2026. The lunchtime session offered a fascinating insight into what life and study could look like on the other side of the world.
Anthony led an engaging presentation covering the wide range of degree programmes available at the University of Queensland, from science and engineering to business, healthcare, the humanities and creative industries. Students were particularly interested in the flexible course structures and the chance to explore interdisciplinary pathways during their studies.
The session also highlighted the different accommodation options available in Brisbane, including on‑campus colleges with strong pastoral support and vibrant community life, as well as independent student housing close to the city centre. Representatives shared a real sense of what it’s like to live and study in Brisbane; a safe, warm and welcoming city with easy access to beaches, cultural events and world‑class sporting facilities.
For those interested in high‑performance sport, the presentation included information on the University of Queensland’s sports scholarship opportunities for 2027. Students learned about the training environment, performance support teams, and how academic study can be balanced with elite‑level competition.
It was a valuable and eye‑opening session, giving students the chance to consider international study, broaden their horizons, and explore the incredible opportunities available to them beyond the UK. We are grateful to Anthony and Sarah for visiting and sharing their expertise.
