January has been an outstanding month for Taunton School Netball, packed with opportunity, progression and impressive performances across every age group. The strength and depth of the programme continues to grow, with more girls than ever proudly representing the school and competing at a high level.

Coaching & Performance Development: We are thrilled to welcome Isla May as our new Performance Coach. Isla brings exceptional experience, playing for the England Mixed Team and London Pulse Next Gen. She has already made a huge impact on training standards, intensity and player confidence.

Participation & Fixtures: Netball at Taunton continues to thrive with 120+ girls representing Years 9–13 having played competitive fixtures this season and 40 matches played in January alone.

The sheer volume of participation is fantastic to see, with teams competing regularly and developing both skill and teamwork through consistent match play.

In addition, we are delighted to celebrate a number of players achieving recognition beyond school netball:

Representative Honours & Pathway Success: Izzy A – selected for Ireland European Championships U17 squad & Samia J – part of the Team Bath Junior Player Development Programme (JPDP), competing in fixtures against Birmingham Panthers and London Pulse, including being given a Player of the Month (POM) Award.

Looking Ahead

With so many players earning pathway recognition and such strong engagement across all year groups, the future of Taunton School Netball is incredibly bright. The commitment, spirit and enthusiasm shown throughout January sets an exciting tone for the rest of the season.
